CIPHERDECK

Because “Scyther-deck” was taken.

CipherDeck didn’t start as a business plan. It started on the kitchen table, opening booster packs with the kids. The kind of afternoon where someone pulls something good and everyone leans in to look. Then another pack. Then a binder that wasn’t big enough anymore.

We were just a family who liked Pokémon together. Over the years the collection grew — a little at a time, set by set, kid by kid. What began as something fun to share slowly turned into something we cared for seriously: organizing, protecting, learning what things were worth, trading duplicates, picking up a sealed box when we could swing it.

As the kids got older, so did the hobby. We weren’t just opening packs for the thrill of it anymore. We were buying, selling, and trading — carefully, honestly, the way you’d want someone to treat a card you’d kept for years. The things we loved and invested in as a family became the foundation of a real shop.

What we believe

Treat every card like it matters. Whether it’s a dollar common or a graded card worth more than we’d like to admit, it gets sleeved, checked, and packed properly. We’ve been on the receiving end of a bent card in a plain envelope. We won’t do that to you.

Stay small on purpose. CipherDeck is veteran-owned and family-run. There’s no warehouse, no corporate voice, no “limited-time offer” nonsense. It’s us — listing what we have, shipping what we sell, and showing up at shows when we can.

Be straight with people. If something’s not in the condition we’d want to receive, we say so. If we don’t know, we say that too. We’d rather lose a sale than misrepresent a card.

Where we are now

Today we sell singles, sealed product, and graded cards through our main store and on eBay. We ship nationwide from Fort Washington, Maryland, and offer local pickup by appointment. We also built CipherDeck Apps — seller tools we needed ourselves and decided to share.

If you’ve been collecting long enough to remember when a holo was the best thing in the pack, you’ll probably get us. If you’re just starting out, we’re happy to help you find your footing. Either way — thanks for stopping by.
